Maggie Austin,
Time & Again
(Gulfwind, 2002)

Can an album of just six tracks compete with the standard 12- to 18-track production? Can self-produced songs take on the "big guns"? In the case of Maggie Austin, the answer is an emphatic YES!

This short CD of just 20 minutes' duration packs a punch that will floor you from the opening song, "Time & Again." "I Still Need" has a familiar sound that will haunt you from the first listen, while the upbeat "Touchdown" will defy your feet to avoid tapping.

My favourite track is "Kiss Me," which has me "body bopping" as I write.

Maggie appears to be the ultimate Internet hit singer, with regular top spots on various sites. Now you can hear the sound on a CD, and I for one am impressed beyond belief. My only gripe is that I would have liked a 12-track album, but she packs this one tight so get hold of it.
