Joe McBride,
Texas Hold 'Em
(Heads Up, 2006)

St. Louis native Joe McBride makes his home in Dallas, Texas, where Joe plays his particular style of jazz. Being in the middle of the country, Joe finds he is influenced by several different jazz elements. Joe says his music isn't East Coast or West Coast, it's kind of like a third coast.

On his latest album, Texas Hold 'Em, Joe offers 10 original tunes along with his version of the Iron Butterfly hit "In-A-Godda-Da-Vida" -- a rendition like you've never heard before. As the album title might suggest, each piece has a poker theme.

Joe's musical style of playing is open in that he is open to new ideas which allow the music to take on a life of its own.

Texas Hold 'Em is Joe's seventh release with the Heads Up label. Fans of David Sanborn, George Benson, Bob James and Four Play will want to add it to their musical collections.
