Leah Zicari,
Pretty on Thursday
(Goatgrrl, 2003)

Pretty on Thursday is a delightful album by folksinger Leah Zicari. Her second release, it falls more along the lines of a folk-rock album than her previous recording.

The CD contains 12 tracks of songs that talk of relationships, kisses and wishes. It's a well-balanced album where you can actually hear and understand Leah's words ... and Leah is a songwriter who didn't forget why she wrote the lyrics in the first place. A process server when she isn't making music, this University of Buffalo graduate has put her education to good use and has served notice that she is here to stay.

On Pretty on Thursday, Leah demonstrates her musical versatility by performing a variety of musical styles. And Leah isn't afraid to have a little fun like on "Tastes Like Ice Cream." On "Kiss That Boy," she gives you a little insight into her private life.

Leah has the voice to hit the high notes when she needs to, but doesn't screech or over do it. Leah has the voice and talent to be a star. It's a shame she has been passed over for lesser talent.
