Then in the early '90s he produced a series called Prisoners of Gravity that examined the genres of science fiction, fantasy, horror and comics. Each show explored a particular theme through interviews with authors, artists and creators in these genres. During this time Gregg was lucky enough to interview such authors as Anne McCaffrey, Orson Scott Card, Kim Stanley Robinson, Nancy Kress, Jack Williamson, Roger Zelazny, C.J. Cherryh and James Morrow. At this point in his career both music and fiction have become purely recreational activities, but he often finds that writing a review for Rambles.NET enhances his appreciation of an album or book. He hopes that through these reviews he can introduce readers to good work that they might not otherwise run across. (But he doesn't want to praise unduly.) |

Gregg Thurlbeck, besides being a husband and father of two, is a television producer at TVOntario, the province-wide public broadcaster based in Toronto, Canada. Over his years in the television business he has worked on two series of relevance to this website. From 1982 to '89, he worked on The NewMusic, a magazine-style program that used interviews, videos and live concert footage to profile such diverse musical acts as U2 (on the Boy tour), Nina Hagen, Miles Davis, the Chieftains, Hugh Masekela and Bjork.
